The photography studio of Luzzi and Michael Wolgensinger, founded in the mid-1930s, was a Zurich institution for six decades and an important meeting place for the international avant-garde. With their advertising photography in the tradition of New Objectivity, they captured the spirit of the times and quickly became sought-after partners for many designers and clients. From the outset, they also documented major cultural events at home and abroad, as well as industrial and production facilities, people in their working lives, and architecture with a special focus on Zurich. On their travels to nearby and distant countries, they produced compelling socially documentary images of everyday life and work. The exhibition presents the Wolgensingers’ rich body of work as a whole for the first time.
