Over the past 20 years, the face of Swiss banking has changed profoundly. Where personal contact in the branch once took centre stage, banking has now arrived on the smartphone. This raises questions such as: how do we pay, save and invest today — and how will we do so in the future? Which institutions do we trust? The exhibition traces the origins of Swiss banking through to the development of Switzerland as a financial centre, and then sets this history against the current digital trends in banking: from the counter to the app. A selection of original historical securities introduces the different types of Swiss banks, alongside global tech companies that continue to drive digitalisation in the financial sector.
