Concept development and lighting design throughout all construction phases. This outstanding example of New Building in Switzerland was comprehensively restored and returned to its original form. The lighting in the large hall and in the new exhibition spaces on the lower ground floor is designed for maximum functionality, enabling every facet of exhibition lighting, from strictly objective to strongly theatrical. Two highlights can be found in the foyer: shade luminaires—reminiscent of the 1930s—playfully soften the severity of the pioneering general lighting. The far-visible nocturnal colour animation, developed by matí in 2005, was retained.
