The new building offers around 8,000 square metres of flexibly usable spaces, a public library, a club, and a concert hall for 280 guests. The foyer, as the building’s central element, unfolds in a cascading sequence across all floors and connects the various uses with one another. Both the lighting and the acoustics are integrated into the rib-like structured concrete soffit. The linear lighting used as the basic lighting element runs parallel to the rib structure. The density of the light lines responds to the type of use and the required illuminance levels. In the workrooms, the light lines are positioned centrally within the window axis and reflect the building grid. The goal of keeping the connected load for artificial lighting low while achieving very good colour rendering quality is met through the use of high-quality LED luminaires.
