The renovation of Zurich Insurance’s historic headquarters on Mythenquai is skilfully complemented by a new building and forms a new overall unity. With its soaring architectural element, the new building powerfully stages itself on the lakeshore in the form of a crystalline glass body. As part of the City of Zurich’s Plan Lumière, the façades and inner courtyard are enhanced with discreet light. In the new building, the interior lighting for the office areas is largely functional, while in the representative rooms it is complemented by high-quality luminaires whose materiality and form relate to the glass façade. In the historic listed building, many luminaires were restored and recommissioned.
