With the five-storey, 180-metre-long new building “Perron,” Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is expanding its study and research landscape in the immediate vicinity of Lucerne railway station for around 3,000 students, 6,500 continuing education participants, and 400 employees. For the tenant fit-out, the lighting solution for classrooms, lounges, meeting rooms, and the auditorium uses all-round radiating light that appears inviting and present in the space thanks to diffuse luminous bodies. By contrast, the office spaces and library feature delicate, well-shielded linear luminaires integrated into the active ceilings, preserving a calm ceiling appearance and allowing the view of the surrounding mountain panorama to come into its own. Complementing this, adjustable spotlights are integrated into the linear system, enabling pictures or plants to be highlighted as needed and differentiating the working landscape with light across the large floor area.
