Three-headed pendant luminaires run rhythmically along the sides of the columns toward the front of the nave, and group together in a planar arrangement near the choir. Glass lenses set within a ring emit light upward and downward, generating a restrained ambient light while at the same time emphasising the arches between the nave and side aisles, as well as the church ceiling. The project included replacing the existing lighting in order to achieve not only energy-efficient illumination but also additional control options, such as separate control of direct and indirect light. Together with the newly installed spotlights, which now present the previously too-dark speaking and choir area at an appropriate brightness, the overall lighting creates a coherent and flexible lighting concept.
