In the world of art museums, and in museums of every other kind, matí Lichtgestaltung — led by Hanspeter Keller since 2007 — has earned a distinguished reputation. From its founding in 1992, originally under the joint direction of Cri Bertozzi and Hanspeter Keller, the studio has been a pioneer in showing what accomplished lighting design and intelligent staging can bring to cultural projects.
matí Lichtgestaltung is devoted to a clear, uncompromising aesthetic. We understand complex design ideas and know intimately how people perceive light in space. Translating a conceptually ambitious lighting solution into a buildable plan, and seeing it through to commissioning, is simply how we work.
Years of collaboration with exceptional architects have given us a sure hand with the most demanding briefs.
A generous sampling room and our own workshop let us build mockups and custom luminaires, run lighting tests, and stage real spatial scenarios. Because in the end, experiencing what light can do is far more inspiring than talking about it.
